The problem

Editing a course on a LearnDash site was failing, and the cause needed to be found before it could be fixed or reported.

The solution

Narrowed the failure down to a specific condition: the course had an associated quiz that had been moved to the Trash, and editing the course then ran into an infinite execution loop. Reported it to LearnDash support with the steps to reproduce.

Steps to reproduce#

  1. A LearnDash course has an associated quiz.
  2. The quiz is moved to the Trash.
  3. Editing the course enters an infinite execution loop, and the edit fails.

Why it matters#

Bugs like this look like random site problems to the people running the site. Isolating the exact trigger turned "editing is broken" into a reproducible report the vendor could act on, and LearnDash support confirmed the bug by email.

The habit behind it#

Before blaming the theme or "a plugin conflict", reduce the problem to the smallest set of steps that reproduces it. That's usually where the real cause shows up.
